Gleiss Lutz advises Freudenberg on the acquisition of the Heytex Group’s core business from Bencis Capital Partners

Gleiss Lutz has advised Freudenberg Performance Materials on the acquisition of major parts of the Heytex Group from private equity investor Bencis Capital Partners.

The acquisition covers the core business of Heytex with three production locations (Germany and China) and all central functions including sales and R&D.

Headquartered in Bramsche, Germany, the Heytex Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality and functional technical textiles. With a workforce of around 400 employees, the parts of the Heytex Group to be acquired generated approximately EUR 100 million in 2023.

Freudenberg Performance Materials is a leading global supplier of innovative technical textiles for a broad range of markets and applications such as apparel, automotive, building interiors, building materials, healthcare, energy, filter media, shoe and leather goods as well as specialities. In 2023, the company generated sales of more than EUR 1.4 billion, had 32 production sites in 14 countries and employed over 5,000 staff.

The transaction is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
