Doris-Maria advises in labour and employment law matters, including in connection with transactions and company restructurings. Clients profit from her extensive experience with complex matters concerning works constitution and collective bargaining law, in particular with critical negotiations with works councils or unions. She is also a specialist for contract structuring at board and managing director level from an employment law perspective. A further focus of her work is advising on employment-related compliance measures and representing companies in employment law-related disputes. In addition, Doris-Maria advises banks and financial service providers on the adjustment of contracts to bring them in line with regulatory remuneration requirements.
Doris-Maria studied law at the University of Marburg. She has been a partner at Gleiss Lutz since 2002. Doris-Maria is a certified labour law attorney. In 1999 she was seconded to an international law firm in Chicago.
She is chair of the board of the German Bar Association’s Labour Law Working Group, a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA), the German-American Lawyers’ Association (DAJV), as well as the Hamburger Verein für Arbeitsrecht e.V. In addition she is a member of the supervisory board of the DeutscheAnwaltAkademie and the organizing committee of the Deutsche Arbeitsrechtstag, as well as lecturer at the University of Mannheim for collective employment law. Furthermore, Doris-Maria is an author of the employment law column in the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.
