Gleiss Lutz has appointed three partners and eight counsel as of 1 January 2020: Dr. Johannes Hertfelder (competition/antitrust, Stuttgart), Dr. Marc Ruttloff (public law/product liability, Stuttgart) and Dr. Lukas Schultze-Moderow (dispute resolution, relocating to Hamburg) have been made partners. Dr. Benedikt Burger (IP, Düsseldorf), Alexander Gebhardt (finance, Frankfurt), Dr. Daniel Heck (Hamburg), Dr. Thomas Kreuz (Stuttgart), Dr. Jonas Rybarz (Berlin, all corporate), Dr. Julia Herzberg (Düsseldorf), Frauke Sturm (Stuttgart, both employment) and Dr. Harald Weiß (competition/antitrust, Brussels) have been appointed as counsel.

In Regulatory & Litigation new partner Dr. Johannes Hertfelder is joining the renowned antitrust team. Digital markets are a main focus of his. With Dr. Harald Weiß as counsel Gleiss Lutz's Brussels office is gaining a further experienced antitrust expert. Dispute resolution partner Dr. Lukas Schultze-Moderow also focuses on antitrust damages litigation and post-M&A arbitration, as well as financial & banking litigation. He will join the Hamburg office. Dr. Marc Ruttloff advises – also as partner in the future – on product liability and product safety. His practice encompasses all facets of product compliance, including in relation to connectivity, data protection and artificial intelligence. In Dr. Benedikt Burger Gleiss Lutz has appointed an expert for patent litigation as counsel.
Four new counsel from various relevant practice areas are bolstering the ranks in Transactions: Dr. Daniel Heck works in corporate advisory and corporate transactions, Dr. Jonas Rybarz in real estate and portfolio transactions. Dr. Julia Herzberg is an expert for management board and managing director matters, in particular for contract and remuneration agreements. In addition, she advises banks and financial service providers on the adaptation of contracts to IVV's remuneration requirements. Lastly, Alexander Gebhardt is working in finance, focusing mainly on capital markets.
Gleiss Lutz is adding two counsel to its Advisory practice, namely Dr. Thomas Kreuz and Frauke Sturm. Frauke Sturm advises on employment law, with a main focus on restructurings, works constitution law as well as the conclusion and termination of service contracts with management board members. Company lawyer Dr. Thomas Kreuz is an expert for compliance issues, liability actions and restructurings and also advises financial service providers on regulatory topics, among others.
