A team of Gleiss Lutz lawyers has advised the Supervisory Boards of Volkswagen AG and TRATON SE on the reorganisation of their Board of Management teams.
Andreas Renschler will be leaving the Board of Management of TRATON SE and the Group Board of Management of Volkswagen AG as of 15 July 2020. He will be handing over the chair of the Board of Management of TRATON SE to Matthias Gründler as of this date; Mr. Gründler was the CFO of Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, manufacturer of commercial vehicles of the makes MAN, Scania and Volkswagen, until May 2018.
Furthermore, Dr. Andreas Tostmann, currently a member of the Board of Management for the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand with responsibility for Production and Logistics, will be taking over from Joachim Drees, who will also be leaving the TRATON Board of Management as of 15 July 2020. Prof. Dr. Carsten Intra, the TRATON Board of Management member responsible for HR, will be taking over as Chairman of the Board of Management at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The Human Resources and IT division for which Prof. Dr. Intra was responsible on TRATON’s Board of Management will cease to exist and the responsibilities will be assigned to the other members of the Board of Management as part of their functions.
With this mandate, Gleiss Lutz has once again worked on a strategically important matter for the VW Group. Prior to that the firm was already instructed by the automotive group’s Supervisory Board in connection with the investigation into the diesel issue, the formation of a broad alliance with Ford Motor Company and TRATON SE’s IPO.
