The Leuphana University of Lüneburg and the University of Glasgow are in the process of establishing a European Centre for Advanced Studies in Lüneburg. With this Centre, the two partners aim to promote science, research and education by joint programmes, R&D cooperations along with exchanging researchers and students. Given that Brexit is just round the corner, the University of Glasgow sees it as important to continue being strongly involved in successful cooperations. The Centre intends to contribute significantly to developing and networking between the universities, towns and regions as well as Scotland and Lower Saxony.
The University of Glasgow is one of the oldest English- language universities and, as a founding member of the Russell Group, counts among the world’s best universities in international rankings.
As an innovative university in the metropolitan area of Hamburg, the Leuphana University of Lüneburg has developed a study model which is entirely new in Germany; it is one of the first universities to focus on sustainability and digitalisation as subjects of research and develop an interdisciplinary priority for these topics.
