Gleiss Lutz advises Frasers Group on the acquisition of SportScheck

 

Gleiss Lutz has advised the British Frasers Group on its acquisition of SportScheck from Signa. Closing of the transaction is subject to customary regulatory clearances. 

Frasers Group is an international retail group founded in 1982. The Group has a significant number of businesses, including Sports Direct, Flannels and Frasers, and offers consumers access to the world's best sports, premium and luxury brands across over a thousand stores in the UK and internationally. The acquisition will enable Frasers Group to grow its presence in Germany, one of the biggest sports markets in Europe and a key focus area for its Sports segment.

SportScheck has over 75 years of expertise in sports retail and operates 34 stores in prime city locations across Germany. It generates revenue of around EUR 350 million and has a customer base of over 13 million visitors per year.
