A Gleiss Lutz team has advised the Japanese Sekisui Jushi Corporation on its acquisition of WEMAS TopCo GmbH.
Sekisui Jushi will acquire all the shares in WEMAS TopCo GmbH, the holding company of German road safety product manufacturer WEMAS Group, from the company’s shareholders.
Sekisui Jushi Corporation is an international manufacturer of construction, safety and transportation products. Through the acquisition of WEMAS Group, Sekisui Jushi will acquire safety products, technology, manufacturing bases and sales channels in Europe. Through this, the company aims to further expand its European traffic safety business.
WEMAS is the market leader in Germany for integrated, certified road barrier technology solutions. The broad product range essentially comprises barrier beacons, fall protection devices, lights, base plates and traffic cones. Its core business is supplemented by other plastic products such as mortar tubs, protective devices for the logistics sector and articles for equestrian sports. The products are sold exclusively to major customers and retailers. WEMAS has more than 130 employees at its headquarters in Gütersloh.
