Gleiss Lutz has advised Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems Ltd., a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and one of the world’s largest suppliers of transport refrigeration systems, on a joint venture with the German Heifo Group.
As of 1 September 2018, HEIFO Rüterbories GmbH & Co. KG contributed its transport refrigeration business unit to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe GmbH. The shareholders of the new company (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Transport Europe GmbH) are Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems Ltd. from Japan and HEIFO Rüterbories GmbH & Co. KG.
The joint venture’s primary goal is to expand the European market with a focus on customers, while establishing a competent, pan-European service network and further developing and optimising cold chain systems.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems Ltd. has been developing and producing cooling systems at the leading edge of technology for many decades. Many countries in the Asia/Pacific region and Europe are already served by close partnerships with the market leader Mitsubishi.
HEIFO is a general importer of Mitsubishi transport refrigeration systems in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the Benelux and parts of Eastern Europe. This step brings the manufacturer Mitsubishi even closer to the important European market.
