Gleiss Lutz has advised a real estate fund of the Korean company Mirae Asset Global Investments Co., LTD on its acquisition of several buildings for office and retail use, together with parking spaces, around Cologne’s Lanxess Arena.
As part of the transaction Immobilienfonds Köln-Deutz Arena und Mantelbebauung GbR also sold the Lanxess Arena itself. The Arena is Germany's largest multi-purpose arena with approximately 18,000 seats, restaurants, bars, bistros and retail shops. The complex also includes flanking constructions with around 100,000 square metres of office space on a long-term lease to the City of Cologne and used as the city hall, as well as around 2,900 parking spaces and a multi-purpose hall. The Lanxess Arena and the multi-purpose hall were acquired by Junson Capital.
