Gleiss Lutz has advised HeidelbergCement on the sale of its sand-lime bricks business to listed Danish company H+H International A/S and its subsidiary H+H Deutschland GmbH. The transaction was carried out in an auction process and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2018.
HeidelbergCement is one of the world's largest integrated manufacturers of building materials with leading market position in aggregates, cement and ready-mixed concrete. It employs some 60,000 people at more than 3,000 locations in aound 60 countries. The disposal is part of a review and optimisation of the company's portfolio.
HeidelbergCement's sand-lime brick business comprises the following subsidiaries: Heidelberger Kalksandstein GmbH, KS-Quadro Bausysteme GmbH and Hunziker Kalksandstein AG. The sand-lime brick division has eight sites in Germany and Switzerland.
