
Gleiss Lutz has advised Prof. Martin Hörmann (from the law firm Anchor) as insolvency administrator of the assets of ALNO AG and other group companies on D&O liability and other issues.
The ALNO Group, based in Pfullendorf and listed on the stock exchange in 1995, was one of the world’s largest kitchen manufacturers. With around 2,100 employees, the Group produced and distributed kitchens worldwide under various brands. ALNO AG and other companies of the ALNO Group filed for insolvency in July 2017.
Gleiss Lutz prepared and asserted D&O liability claims on behalf of the insolvency administrator for multiple companies, filing and enforcing some of these claims in court. The insolvency administrator has now reached a successful settlement with the main D&O insurers. The proceedings pending before Bielefeld and Dessau-Roßlau Regional Courts will be concluded as a result of the settlement.
Gleiss Lutz provided the insolvency administrator with comprehensive legal advice in the D&O liability proceedings, especially in connection with the internal investigation, the public prosecutor’s preliminary proceedings, enforcing claims both in and out of court and negotiating the coverage settlement.
