Every year, the Financial Times presents awards for innovations in the European legal market. At yesterday’s ceremony in London, Gleiss Lutz received the award for "innovative client service". The law firm was honoured for its web-based “AGG” archive, which was recognised by the Financial Times for its proactive approach to identifying client requirements and its originality. Gleiss Lutz was the only German law firm to be commended among predominantly UK and US laureates.
The “AGG” archive (www.agg-hopper.de) was created by the law firm’s labour and employment law practice in response to the new General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) as preventive defence for companies against abusive discrimination suits filed by employees.
Martin Diller, managing partner at Gleiss Lutz, was very pleased with the award: “Providing excellent legal services is about far more than just perfect knowledge and application of the law. Recognising clients’ business needs, quickly responding to new legal and economic developments and perfect service are just as important. Our law firm has been a longstanding advocate of proactive, client-centred legal advising. We are obviously very pleased that the Financial Times jury recognised the benefits of this approach.”
