Gleiss Lutz has advised Wrede Industrieholding in the matter of the sale of the Interprint Group to the Japanese Toppan Printing Group. The transaction is expected to close by late 2019.
Headquartered in Arnsberg, Interprint is a world leader for décor printing, with a staff of 1,300 and eight production sites in Germany, the US, Poland, Malaysia, China, Russia and Brazil. The Interprint Group generated a turnover of some EUR350 million in 2018. Interprint’s wood, stone and creative décors are used to laminate many different wood-based materials that are made into furniture or floorings used for interior design purposes.
Toppan Printing Co., Ltd., which has its head office in Tokyo, Japan, is a leading global supplier of integrated solutions for printing, communication, security, packaging, décor materials and electronics and has a workforce of more than 50,000 worldwide. With a global annual turnover of 1,465 billion yen (approx. EUR12 billion), Toppan is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the Nikkei 225 stock index.
