A team of Gleiss Lutz lawyers has advised the majority shareholder on the sale of the BEWATEC Group to DewertOkin GmbH, a subsidiary of Swiss-listed Phoenix Mecano AG. The transaction is still subject to the customary regulatory clearances and expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2020. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
BEWATEC was established in 1995 and is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of communication systems for hospitals and clinics. The company made its name developing and producing specialised hospital bedside tablets. Approximately 60 percent of all hospital beds in Germany use the company’s systems. BEWATEC’s most recently launched software, ConnectedCare, is a digital platform for hospitals and clinics with over 60,000 beds that allows patients, hospital staff and doctors to exchange information.
