Gleiss Lutz advises ASML on the divestment of Berliner Glas Group’s technical glass division to Glas Trösch

A team of Gleiss Lutz lawyers has advised Netherlands technology group ASML on the divestment its subsidiary Berliner Glas Group's technical glass division to Swiss family-owned company Glas Trösch Group. The transaction includes companies in Schwäbisch Hall and Syrgenstein that are specialised in the production of display glass and touch assemblies. The divested companies will operate under the name of EuropTec in the future, the brand name under which the Glas Trösch Group bundles the entire technical glass division.

ASML is one of the world's leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment, offering products and services that allow chipmakers to define the patterns that integrated circuits are made of. The company continuously raises the capabilities of its solutions, enabling its customers to increase the value and at the same time reduce the cost of chips. By helping to make chips cheaper and more powerful, ASML helps to make semiconductor technology more attractive for a larger range of products and services, which in turn enables technological progress in fields such as healthcare, energy, mobility and entertainment. Headquartered in Veldhoven in the Netherlands, ASML is a multinational company traded on Euronext Amsterdam and NASDAQ, with offices in more than 60 cities across 16 countries and a workforce of more than 28,000.

The following Gleiss Lutz team advised ASML on the transaction: Dr. Martin Viciano Gofferje (partner, lead), Dr. Johannes Weigel, Daniel Ahnert, Dr. Viktor Gorlow (all Berlin), Dr. Antonius Mann (all M&A), Dr. Stefan Mayer (partner), Dr. Ocka Stumm, Dr. Leonhard Kornwachs (all Tax, all Frankfurt), Dr. Alexander Molle (partner), Dr. Matthias Schilde (both IP/IT), Dr. Rut Steinhauser (partner), Anke Siemer-Arcq (both Employment, all Berlin), Dr. Alexander Fritzsche (partner, Competition/Antitrust), Konrad Discher (counsel, Real Estate, both Frankfurt).
