Martin focuses on advising both listed and private companies in difficult decision-making situations, in particular on public takeovers and other complex transactions, like carve-outs and restructurings. He also frequently advises on shareholder and investor activism, capital market compliance and all questions relating to corporate governance, such as fiduciary duties of board members, general compliance and internal investigations.
Martin studied at the University of Hamburg. He has been a partner at Gleiss Lutz since 2010. Between 2002–2005 and 2006–2009 Martin was with an international law firm in Düsseldorf and London and from 2005–2006 with an investment bank in London.
In surveys of leading commercial lawyers in Germany, he has been listed for many years as a "TOP lawyer in corporate law" (Wirtschaftswoche), "Frequently recommended for corporate law/M&A" (JUVE, Handelsblatt) and as a "Notable practitioner for M&A" (IFLR 1000). He is an active member of the Corporate Governance Group of the IBA and was a lecturer for M&A at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
