trendence Graduate Barometer: Gleiss Lutz among the five most popular law firms for young legal talent

Gleiss Lutz is one of the five most attractive major law firms for the next generation of legal talent, as emerges from the trendence Graduate Barometer 2017. The firm came eighth in the overall ranking of favourite employers, so is again one of the top ten. The Federal Foreign Office is the top favourite as in previous years. All in all, however, the major law firms count among the winners, gaining in popularity with young talent compared with the business and public sectors.

The trendence Graduate Barometer also shows that many of the next generation of legal talent meet their employer of choice during internships and legal training. One quarter of the trainee lawyers interviewed had already completed an internship at their current employer. Forty-four percent of trainee lawyers wish to stay on in permanent employment after completing their professional training.

“We are delighted to belong to the top five law firms for young legal talent this year. That proves that our efforts to offer highly qualified young legal talent an attractive working environment have met with success”, commented Dr. Alexander Schwarz, Co-Managing Partner of Gleiss Lutz. “Flexibility as regards working hours or the opportunity to take a sabbatical is all part and parcel of working here. Added to that, our corporate culture also plays a key role: proper support, individual responsibility at an early stage and an excellent working atmosphere are distinctive features of working at Gleiss Lutz for associates.”

trendence, one of Europe’s leading institutions in the areas of employer branding, HR marketing and recruiting, interviews 2,200 of the young legal talent, including students, legal trainees and fully qualified young lawyers, for the trendence Graduate Barometer every year.
