Strong addition to Gleiss Lutz: the law firm now has a new of counsel, Hans-Joachim Reck

Effective immediately, the attorney Hans-Joachim Reck will be joining Gleiss Lutz. Mr. Reck, 63, was previously the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the German Association of Local Public Utilities (Verband kommunaler Unternehmen - VKU) for eight years (up to August 2015) and will now be acting as of counsel out of the Berlin office. With him, the law firm is gaining a highly renowned expert with extremely good connections with companies, public authorities and political figures. He will assist the firm in advising clients in the entire field of public business law, including in the energy sector, the area of supply and disposal, as well as in the real estate and financial sector, and in general vis-à-vis political figures and associations.

Prior to assuming the position of Chief Executive Officer of the VKU, he acted in several important functions in the Federal Government and Federal State government, as well as at the head of leading companies. Between 1993 and 1996 he was the Managing Director on Federal Level of the German CDU party, after which he moved to Deutsche Telekom AG, where he initially headed up the Top Management/Personnel Department, and subsequently the Group Management / Sales Contacts Department. From 2003 to 2006 he was the General Secretary of CDU North Rhine-Westphalia, a member of the Federal State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia and Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Federal State Parliament, as well as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Rheinisch-Bergischen Kreis district in NRW.
