Gleiss Lutz is pleased to be able to announce that Professor Dr. Harald Wiedmann, former management board spokesman of KPMG Deutsche Treuhand-Gesellschaft AG and chairman of KPMG Europe, has joined Gleiss Lutz as of counsel. Wiedmann is renowned, both in Germany and abroad, as an expert for accounting and SEC issues. Born in 1945, Wiedmann studied law and, after obtaining his Dr. iur. and training as an auditor, he spent many years in a senior auditor position. He was also chairman of the German Accounting Standards Committee and president of the German Standardisation Council, where he was able to put his knowledge and experience as an accounting expert to good use. He is honorary professor at the Technical University Berlin (1999) and the University of Frankfurt (1995) and has written many academic publications. Wiedmann sits on the supervisory board of many major German companies. He will work for Gleiss Lutz out of the Berlin office.
