The partners of Gleiss Lutz have decided to strengthen their M&A practice and have elected Dr Andreas Löhdefink, currently M&A partner at Shearman & Sterling, to the partnership. The starting date is yet to be confirmed. In addition to strengthening the general M&A team, by hiring Andreas Löhdefink Gleiss Lutz will continue to expand the Financial Institutions team joining Dr Rainer Loges and Dr Jan Balssen, after Dr Tobias Harzenetter (focus: insurance) became partner in January 2019.
Andreas Löhdefink has worked for Shearman & Sterling since 2010 and became partner in January 2014. His practice focuses on M&A for Financial Institutions and Insurance companies. He is co-head of Shearman’s worldwide Insurance Group. Andreas Löhdefink also advises on general M&A transactions and on corporate and capital markets law. IFLR 1000 names him as ’Highly Regarded Practitioner‘ for Corporate/M&A, JUVE recommends him for M&A.
