JUVE Awards 2013: Gleiss Lutz named “Law Firm of the Year for Competition/Antitrust”

German publisher JUVE has named Gleiss Lutz “Law Firm of the Year for Competition/Antitrust“. The practice was honoured at the JUVE Awards on 23 October in Frankfurt for its especially dynamic and impressive development. “The young, extremely well-positioned team of partners achieved remarkable success in key antitrust cases during the year … Rarely is a law firm dealt such a good hand”, commented JUVE.

Among other cases, the firm advised leniency applicant voestalpine in the “rail cartel”, one of the largest cartel investigation in Germany. In the “tank pumper cartel”, Gleiss Lutz succeeded in negotiating, on behalf of Iveco Magirus, a collective settlement with the associations of German local authorities. This settlement was the first of its kind to be negotiated in Germany. In addition, the antitrust practice is in high demand, particularly when it comes to international cartel proceedings, actions for damages and merger control proceedings, as well as for compliance matters and internal investigations.

Gleiss Lutz’s renowned antitrust practice has for decades been among the most highly sought after advisors in the market. Its status as a top firm is borne out year after year by its leading position in national and international law firm rankings. JUVE already named Gleiss Lutz as the best law firm for antitrust matters in 2010.

Finally, Gleiss Lutz’s outstanding reputation is also corroborated by recent surveys in several German financial publications: In 2013 Gleiss Lutz garnered a position among the very top law firms in a Focus ranking as well as in Handelsblatt’s “Best Lawyers” rankings. Best Lawyers also recommends all of the firm’s lawyers in antitrust law. In addition, business news magazine Wirtschaftswoche recognised Gleiss Lutz at the end of 2012 as the “law firm of choice for critical matters”.
