Gleiss Lutz wins new Of Counsel in energy law

On 1 July 2012 Prof. Dr. Tobias Leidinger joined Gleiss Lutz’ energy practice. Between 2000 and early 2012, Tobias Leidinger held a senior position at RWE Power AG, most recently as head of basic legal questions of energy law/nuclear energy law. Before that he worked for VEW Energie AG’s legal department where he dealt with energy-related issues. In future, the 48-year-old honorary professor at Ruhr-Universität Bochum and certified administrative law attorney will be supporting the Düsseldorf office as Of Counsel. The firm thus rounds out its expertise with a recognised energy law expert.

Tobias Leidinger specialises in energy law, and has extensive experience in the planning and approval as well as the construction and operation of power plants and infrastructure installations, in particular. Another focus of his work is on the drafting of contracts and corporate counselling. He is also an expert for nuclear energy law and a published energy and environmental law specialist.

Tobias Leidinger gives lectures at the faculty of law at Ruhr-Universität Bochum on power plants, immission control and emissions trading. In 2011 he was made honorary professor of the university.

Dr. Rainer Loges, Managing Partner at Gleiss Lutz: “We’re very pleased to have our energy practice further enhanced by the addition of Tobias Leidinger, a recognised energy law expert with first-class industry contacts.” Bringing together, as it does, the experience and expertise of specialists from different areas of the law, the Gleiss Lutz energy focus group is among the best in the market. Its client portfolio includes German and foreign energy suppliers, network operators, large municipal utility companies, as well as international infrastructure investors.
