Gleiss Lutz strengthens start-up team at Düsseldorf office with labour lawyers

Gleiss Lutz will strengthen the team for its new office in Düsseldorf with experienced labour lawyers. Along with Stuttgart partner Dr. Steffen Krieger, who will head the local labour law practice and will transfer to Düsseldorf within the next year, Dr. Heinrich Klosterkemper will be joining Gleiss Lutz in August as Of Counsel. Associate Dr. Jens Günther will also be transferring from Stuttgart to Düsseldorf.

Dr. Heinrich Klosterkemper, currently of counsel at Beiten Burkhardt in Düsseldorf, is well known for advising on complex matters concerning individual and collective labour law (including, inter alia, on the restructuring of numerous companies). As a result of his many years in the legal and human resources departments at Mannesmann AG – most recently as a fully authorised representative – Dr. Klosterkemper brings with him a wealth of industry experience and contacts. Moreover, he is an honorary judge at the Federal Labour Court and is chairman of the labour law committee of the Regional Association of Employers’ Federations in North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf. He is a member of several committees of the Confederation of German Employer Associations in Berlin and is a lecturer at the University of Düsseldorf.

Dr. Steffen Krieger has been with Gleiss Lutz’ Stuttgart office since 2003. He specialises in advising on restructurings, litigation and anti-discrimination, as well as advising on labour law issues in connection with transactions.

Dr. Rainer Loges, managing partner at Gleiss Lutz: “By offering labour law from the outset, we have made another important step in implementing our strategy– namely offering top quality full-service advice from our new office. Steffen Krieger, Heinrich Klosterkemper and Jens Günther form an excellent team that combines extensive experience, industry knowledge and local contacts.”

Gleiss Lutz is opening its Düsseldorf office in August 2009. The core team will be made up of a total of 15 lawyers, including five partners.
