On March 19, 2008 in London, Gleiss Lutz received the IFLR European Award as “German Law Firm of the Year”. Gleiss Lutz received two additional awards in the categories “Private Equity Deal of the Year” and “Restructuring Deal of the Year”. Permira / Valentino Fashion Group, a transaction in which Gleiss Lutz advised the target company, was selected as “Private Equity Deal of the Year. Schefenacker was the “Restructuring Deal of the Year”. In this transaction, Gleiss Lutz was responsible for the comprehensive advising of Schefenacker plc. in matters related to insolvency law. It advised the management board of Schefenacker on the restructuring and transformation into Visiocorp plc., which Gleiss Lutz is continuing to advise in connection with restructuring issues.
Each year, International Financial Law Review (IFLR) – the publisher of the handbook “IFLR1000 – The Guide to the World’s Leading Financial Law Firms” – confers these awards on leading corporate finance law firms in various jurisdictions.
