Dr. Stefan Widder, previously a partner at Latham & Watkins, will be joining Gleiss Lutz as a partner in mid September 2023. Stefan Widder is one of Germany's leading M&A lawyers and will strengthen the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions team from its Hamburg office.

With this hire, the firm continues the vigorous expansion of its Hamburg office, having already appointed private equity expert Dr. Vanessa Rendtorff as partner on 1 January 2023. Stefan Widder's arrival brings the number of partners in Hamburg to seven – raising the total number of lawyers at the Hamburg office to 33.
