Gleiss Lutz continues to strengthen its compliance practice

Eike Bicker will be joining Gleiss Lutz’s compliance practice on 1 August 2015. He is moving from the boutique firm Pohlmann & Company, which specialises in compliance matters, and will be working as an Associated Partner at the firm’s Frankfurt office. This is the second significant new addition to the compliance practice within the last few months.

Eike Bicker previously worked at Gleiss Lutz from 2011 to 2012, and was - among other things - part of the Gleiss Lutz team that assisted Ferrostaal in dealing with the legal consequences of a worldwide compliance investigation and reaching an agreement with the relevant Public Prosecutor’s Office, one of the most talked-about cases in Germany at that time. In 2012, Eike Bicker left Gleiss Lutz to become one of the founding partners of Pohlmann & Company, where he continued to specialise in strategic compliance advice (including as part of M&A deals), compliance investigations and assisting with the set-up, implementation and development of compliance structures.

His practice also focuses on corporate governance issues, management and supervisory board-related matters and questions pertaining to stock corporation and corporate group law. In 2014, Eike Bicker took up a lectureship in compliance at the University of Bayreuth.

“I am very pleased to be joining Gleiss Lutz’s strong compliance team, and am particularly enthusiastic about the firm’s international focus, full-service approach and the outstanding quality of its work. Together with Gleiss Lutz’s compliance team, I can offer the full spectrum of compliance advice and this is the perfect fit for my practice,” said Eike  Bicker.

Gleiss Lutz is one of Germany’s leading law firms in the area of compliance. As a full service firm, Gleiss Lutz has a cross-practice team that includes experts from the areas of competition and antitrust, corporate law and capital markets, banking and insurance regulatory, litigation, employment, tax and criminal tax law and data protection. Just last October, the former Chief Compliance Officer of Dresdner Bank and public prosecutor, Dirk Scherp, moved to Gleiss Lutz, rounding out the firm’s client offering to include the increasingly important area of commercial criminal law.
