Gleiss Lutz has advised the Swedish SKF Group on its acquisition of Blohm + Voss Industries GmbH together with its subsidiaries from a portfolio company of London based Star Capital Partners (SCP). The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Blohm + Voss Industries is a leading provider of ship components and related services. Originally part of the Blohm + Voss shipyard’s engineering business, the company currently has 400 employees and generated sales of approx. EUR 100 million in the fiscal year 2011/2012. In addition to its headquarters in the Port of Hamburg, Blohm + Voss Industries has offices in China, Korea, Singapore, Japan and Great Britain.
SKF is one of the world’s leading providers of high-quality bearings, seals, mechatronic components, lubrication systems and related services. Its customers also include the marine industry.
