Gleiss Lutz has advised Bruno Bader GmbH + Co. KG on its acquisition of the fashion brand Mona from the insolvent K - Mail Order GmbH & Co. KG. The transaction, effective as of 15 January 2024, includes the Mona brand as well as the associated customer addresses and inventories and is still subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities.
The mail order company Bader, based in Pforzheim, was founded in 1929 and sells fashion items, shoes, underwear, jewellery, health products, home textiles, furniture and household goods. Bader views the acquisition of the women’s clothing, shoes and accessories brand as a strategic step forward. By its own account, Mona epitomises self-confident fashion and has been a well-known brand of the Klingel mail order company since 1989.
K - Mail Order GmbH & Co KG, the principal company of the Pforzheim-based KLiNGEL Group, has been in self-administered insolvency since May 2023.
