Matthias provides comprehensive advice in patent disputes. His procedural experience includes a wide range of various technological areas, for example electronics, telecommunications, pharma, medical devices and chemicals. His expertise also includes advising and representation in disputes in other industrial property law-related areas such as, for example, copyright, know-how protection as well as trademark and competition law. In addition Matthias advises on licensing issues and on the transfer of technology.

Vita

Matthias studied at the universities of Trier, Lausanne and Geneva (Switzerland), Mainz and Münster. He has been a partner at Gleiss Lutz since 2008. Matthias is a certified intellectual property law attorney. Prior to his admission to the bar, he worked for two years as a research and teaching assistant at the Institute of Information, Telecommunications and Media law (ITM) of the University of Münster. In 2005, Matthias was seconded for six months to an IP law firm in New York.

He is a member of the European Patent Lawyers Association (EPLAW), the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and Copyright (GRUR), the Association of Intellectual Property Experts (VPP), the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and the German-American Lawyers’ Association (DAJV).

He speaks German, English and French.
